American Motors: hurst comp/plus 4spd amc, mr gasket, memory banks

Question
I have a 71 jav sst 401 4spd/t-10. I am trying to put the orig. hurst shifter back in as it was replaced with a mr. gasket. I have the shifter portion but am lacking the linkage arms and levers. I have been told both that the 71 up is different than early model shifters not just the arm and that it is just the arm.
Help. true or not?
Thank you,
Shiftless

Answer
I'm dusting the cobwebs off in my memory banks, but on 1970-1974 AMC T-10 transmissions with a Hurst shifter; the linkage should be the same. NOTE: There were a few 69's that used a Hurst shifter. AMC used a cheaper shifter on the earlier model T-10. They have their own linkage, not interchangable with a Hurst.
Hope this helps.
