QuestionI have a 1982 AMC Concord DL, the wiper switch works for the wipers, but I can,t activate the windshield washers [push in} switch won,t push in, were do I start, I do have a used switch but can,t fiqure out how to take old switch out. Thanks Monty Seay
Answer1) disconnect the negative battery cable
2) place a shop rag or towel over the steering column
3) remove the phillips screws that hold the combination meter to the instrument panel. That's the speedometer and gauges are located.
4) Pry out the combination meter far enough to diconnect the wire connectors and speedo cable from the rear.
5) Using a small pocket screwdriver, depress the spring tension tab at the base of the windshield wiper control knob while pulling on it. It should slide off the shaft.
6)Swap out the switch assmembly.
7) repeat the above procedure to install.
