Audio Systems: Sub trouble, honda civic ex coupe, portable cd player

Question
I have a 2004 Honda Civic EX coupe. I wired a ROCKFORD FOSGATE R250-4 PRIME 4-CHANNEL CAR AMP 250W RMS amp to my car properly and to a Kicker 10C124 4 OHM subwoofer. I thought i had hooked it up right but when i got finished i turned the head unit on and got absolutely nothing from the sub, not sound, movement, or anything. I turned the subwoofer all the way up on my headunit and tried about everything I can. The amp is getting power due to the power light being on, and it turns on and off with the head unit, so I figure that means the power cable and remote wire are working fine. Please help.

Answer
First thought that normally comes to mind is the remote wire is not connected and is not switching on the power amp but you seem to have checked that out and the amp is turning on and off with the remote.  So, let me assume that is not the problem. Congratulations.

Then, next thought would be the signal out from the head unit is not getting to the inputs of the amp.  Here is my suggestion:  Using an mp3 player or ipod or portable cd player connect it to the inputs of the power amps to prove that it is working fine with direct inputs.  If not then the speaker connections are suspect. If works good with the alternate inputs then the signal is not getting from the head unit.  Check those cables out.

Hope this helps.
