Audio Systems: CD Player wont eject CD, needle nose pliers, commercial music

Question
I have a 2004 Ford Explorer and the CD player won't eject my CD. I fet a message that says EJ Error. How can I remove the CD? This has never happened before.

a good  smack in the dashboard seems to be the number one cure. Secondly pulling the radio fuse out for a few minutes seems to work in some cases as well.

I don't recommend the needle nose pliers to pull the disc out unless it's a last resort.

If it is a cd you burned yourself it may be the cd player doesn't like the burning format or something like that.  Did it previously work fine with commercial music cds?  Back in 04 home burned cds weren't so popular and the players were not optimized for those kinds of discs.

Let me know if you still need help. But, you can google around on this and find lots of comments from Explorer owners.  You are not the only one with this same problem!
