Audio Systems: amp, watts rms, watt rms

Question
I have two 12" memphis audio c3's they are 600 watts rms and 1200 peak what amp would you recommend that would give me 1000 watts rms per sub, best amp for the money?

Answer
I would always go with the RMS rating.. peak ratings are useless.
If those speakers have DVC's at 2 Ohms each, I would wire them mono at 2 Ohms and suggest this amp by HiFonics for 157.00:

That will give you at least 900 watts across the pair.
The HiFonics Atlas amp will go 1200 watts RMS at 4 Ohms (your speakers can be wired this way if they are DVC) but it costs about 650.00 :/

Cheers,
