Mitsubishi Repair: oil leak, oil pressure sending unit, pan gasket

Question
my 1999 montero sport is leaking oil.. is that something really major?

Answer
Lisa: Where is the oil coming from? Do you see it when you park the car for the night and it is under the car? When is the last time you had the oil changed? Because could be whoever changed the oil did not get the oil pan bolt tight. Or else it could be oil pan gasket and/or oil pan bolt washer leaking, oil pressure sending unit leaking, cylinder head(valve)covers leaking or engine oil seals leaking. But the thing to look at it how much oil your car is loosing. Keep an eye on it, if it not a lot it could be that bolt in the oil pan.If it is the bolt on the oil pan, you need to get that tighten too. A lot well then you need to take it to shop and have that checked out. Because the oil keeps that engine moving and you loose your oil, you will blow the engine. Hope this helps and good luck!
