Audio Systems: BMW MID E53 Radio, amp fuse, fuse panel

Question
Have a 2002 BMW X5 (3.0). For the last few months I have noticed slight static on radio stations that are usually very strong. Recently the radio worked fine and the next day it will not power on. I checked the 10 amp fuse on the back of the CD player and it was good. The display will show the time and other stuff like mileage etc but the radio will not power up. The CD will not eject the disk that is in the unit.

Received a recommendation to look for other fuses but I don't know where to look. Looked in rear passenger side fuse panel but no legend. On driver's side I don't see any fuses. I don't see ny more fuses in the hole in the dash where the radio and CD player were plugged. The main fuse (7) on the panel in the glove box appears good.

I was told that you may have the answer.

What should I do to fix this problem? It took me a while to pull all this stuff from the dash; it is not my forte.

Please help me the silence is deafening

Answer
the problem most likely is not in the radio, before you put it back test the main plug you need to have 2 power with the ignition on and one power with the key off,
if one power is missing keep looking for a bad fuse, if you have two power,
look for the amplifier in the rear left of the suv, the amplifier needs to be in good working conditions and with power for the radio to turn on
good luck
