Audio Systems: car cd player, car cd player, stereo wiring

hey i have a vr indash cd/dvd player for my truck and it will only work if i hook up the power and the ignition wire all togater in other words the yellow and red wires have to all be ran togather for it to work how can i fix that thank u

The red wire is usually the 'always on' lead for the +12v.  The yellow wire is usually the 'turn-on' or remote wire which connects to the ignition switch for powering up when key is on - or any other switch.

You didnot give me the vehicle so I cannot give you the exact wiring but you can google for it by entering the year and model of car followed by stereo wiring guide.  A site called 'modified life' is a good one and so is the 12v site that may come up.
