Audio Systems: car stereo, mp3 music files, usb flash drives

Question
I have a 98 ford explorer it has a 6 cd changer in the middle of the driver and passenger console.I want to replace the manufacture radio with a after market stereo but I want to keep the cd changer is this possible??

Answer
I will add that you can get a headunit which will play both USB flash drives and MP3 music files which have been burnt to a data CD. Even if you really have a need for the changer (right now) I would not plan to use it for too long since it is 13 years old.
At the minimum, get a headunit which will allow the above mentioned functions so that once the changer dies you will have a good way to still play digital media. ♫
The USB and MP3 formats will let you have 1000's of tunes on hand which will never skip or get scratched.
You 'may' thank me later for this addendum. :)

good luck,
