Audio Systems: VES modified Audio Harness in 02 Sienna, toyota sienna xle, car radio wiring

Question
Audio Systems: VES modified Audio Harness in 02 Sienna, toyota sienna xle, car radio wiring
harness
Hello,

In 2008 i bought a 2002 Toyota Sienna XLE that came with a VES with a VCR. Cutting edge in 2002, i guess, but we choose to remove the vcr between the seats. No need for a 5" flip down screen when we have 15" laptops on a trip. ;) Anyway, the van also featured the JBL 6 CD double-din stereo (86120-08140). But the cassette player was damaged so in order to get decent iPod/mp3 device connectivity, I decided to purchase a Pioneer DEH-3200UB head unit from Sonic Electronix which included a harness kit and single din spacer to facilitate installation. You can guess where this is headed... :)

Tonight I began the installation process and found that the harness has been majorly modified (i assume) for the VES (Vehicle Entertainment System). The two connectors that go into the JBL are nothing like the two connectors in the wiring harness kit that were is (or that you find online) recommended for this JBL unit. There are a lot of extract wires in the harness/connectors. Do you know where one would find pinout diagrams for the VES or some sort of documentation on what modifications were made? I just want to identify the 4 speaker pairs and the power wires. Would those be standard colors and then the rest can just be snipped and ignored (since we don't use the legacy VES components anyway? What are your Expert recommendations? :)

Thank you in advance!

Kind Regards,
Chris

Answer
Try this page for wiring code/colors:

Also, I recommend you go through the Crutchfield.com site where you can march through the "outfit my car" sequence and you can get much good useful information.  They are really good.

I am on the run today but if you don't make progress from the above information let me know more.  Or, try Ernesto who is really smart on these kinds of topics.
