Audio Systems: hooking up an aftermarket cd player, hyundai elantra, belcaps

Question
Hi I have an 03 Hyundai Elantra and I bought an aftermarket cd player and also bought a Metra Hyundai wiring harness.  I went to splice the wiring harness that came w/ the cd player to the Metra one and I noticed that one is aluminum wire and the other is copper.  Is this a problem? Can i still splice them together?  Also what kind of wire nuts are suitable for splicing Aluminum to copper wires?  Thanks!

Answer
1) Not a problem.
2) Yes, you can splice them together.
3) Wirenuts are NOT acceptable in a mobile environment.

Use 'belcaps' or butt connectors available at your local auto parts store and crimp them FIRMLY with a set of crimpers.
Belcaps are better, because they have no factory seams (like butts have, which will need to be observed b4 you crimp them or they will come loose. You do not want to crimp a butt type connector on its' seam).
