Audio Systems: HK 775 preamp installation, mono amplifier, harmon kardon

Question
I have a pair of 775's and am connecting to an ols Realistic STA 2000 receiver. The receiver has 2 right/left outputs(?) and the HK only has 1 input plug. Which from the receiver to the preamps?
Mike

Answer
OK - first of all, the Harmon Kardon 775 is a mono amplifier, not a preamp. This type of amp is called a "mono block amplifier" as they are made to amplify one channel per mono block. Most users of this type of gear will have multiple units for the ability to fine tune volume levels from each individual speaker (you see these a lot in multi-channel surround audio set ups).

Each 775 will take one of the outputs from the receiver. Just think of one amp being the "right channel", and the other the "left channel".
