Audio Systems: radio amp, bose systems, voice coils


Question
Does a 2000 blazer, (4 door, 2 wheel drive ) have external radio amps? If so where is it located? My back 2 speakers are out. Could this be the problem?

For the S series the answer is "no".  Some models may have deluxe systems otherwise:

If the 2 speakers are not putting out audio it could be any of these three causes:

-  Speakers are bad (voice coils gone open from over driving audio)
-  Wiring to the speakers gone open circuit or shorted down.
-  Amplifiers in head unit gone bad.

PS; All the above being said, if your car has the Bose system, then, "yes" there is an amplifier. In most Bose systems of that vintage the amplifiers are mounted directly to the basket of the speaker.  If the amp is bad it must be replaced with the exact Bose replacement unit.  Bose systems are not compatible with other makers.
