Audio Systems: HOME THEATER, optimum playback, triad speakers

Question
Hi, I have a Denon 5.1 av receiver (AVR1610) with a Kenwood speaker system (2 towers + 1C + 2 SURR) + 1 TRIAD 200W RMS active subwoofer. I also have an old Kenwood AC3 receiver and 5 TRIAD in wall speakers at my disposal which are not used. I was wondering if I could use the extra receiver or perhaps the TRIAD speakers with my existing setup to further improve the audio of my current setup?

Answer
The question is why would you want to do that?  The Denon/Kenwood system you have is a complete playback system and if the speakers are properly oriented in your listening room it is designed for an optimum playback system.

If you wanted an additional system for another room using the 5 Triad wall mounted units you could run a line out of the Denon to feed the Kenwood receiver and it would then play the same program as the Denon system.

Or, just set up the additional system on its own in another room.

Conclusion:  I would not recommend you alter the current Denon based system with additional speakers (of inferior sound quality) as it will deteriorate the configuration you already have.
