Audio Systems: Surround sound speakers pop and then shut sytem down, sun 9am, impedance load

Question
I had a home theater system installed in my motor home.  It was an in the box system from samsung.  I used power Bass Xtreme 2XH-4002 speakers.  When playing a dvd if the sound gets louder like a fight scene etc the speakers pop and the whole system shuts down.  What is wrong?

Answer
Hi Terry.
This is a common problem if the speakers you are using have an impedance rating which is too low for the amplifier in the HT unit.
The only way to properly correct this is to use speakers which provide the proper impedance 'load' on the amplifier speaker outputs (which will be dictated by the amplifier used).
The Samsung should have that data (minimum impedance load) listed in the owners manual or should be available from their website via Support.
If you had provided the Samsung model number I could probably get that data for you.

Good luck and keep the volume down very low until you get this dealt with as this setup (as it exists now) would likely be listed under 'owner abuse' by the warranty (meaning no warranty).
