Motorcycle Repair: Junction box electrical connectors, bike bandit, ninja 600r

Question
We just bought a '95 Ninja 600R for my girlfriend.  The bike was starting fine, but I was investigating why the turn signals weren't working.

I checked out the fusebox first.  However, the junction box was wrapped up in electrical tape.  While removing the tape, two gray wires fell out of the electrical connectors to the junction box - I believe one wire from each of the two connectors.

Now I'm not getting any response to the right handlebar controls (starter switch and front brake).  The headlight is not coming on either.

The left handlebar controls still seem to function normally (turn signals & horn both work).  The ignition switch is also getting power when (dash lights come on when key is turned).

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Dan

Answer
Hi Dan,

Can you send me an image of the fuse box? I'll need to see what was tampered with by prior owners.

Do you have the shop manual? If not get one. It will pay for itself with the first repair you perform. Find manuals on Ebay and "www.bikebandit.com" Use Bike Bandit to view microfiche parts on line and to check prices of parts.

Use my email to reply. I may need to return test files to you. mshively1@woh.rr.com
