Audio Systems: Connecting problem - Tape to Technics SA-700, amp input, record input

Question
QUESTION: Hello. Let me thank you in advance for any help you can provide.
I have the following components :
SA -700 Tecnics Receiver , A6010 Teac Reel to Reel Tape & an EQ 2600 Numark equalizer.
I cannot make a connection that will allow me to record and play back.
I have prerecorded tapes that play through the set-up just fine but I have tried numerous things and cannot get the record/playback to function.
thank you again

ANSWER: I actually used to own one of these years ago - it was a good unit!

Unfortunately, I'm having difficulty finding a manual or an image of the front & back panels. I know what you're trying to do is fully possible, but 'd need that info before I can advise.

Answer
How I would try this would be this:

SA700 Tape Deck 1  playback > Teac line out
Teac Line in > SA700 Tape Deck 1 Rec out

To record to the Teac, you'd only need to select between "Source & Tape 2 > 1" on the "Rec Mode" switch, depending on what other devices you have plugged into the SA700. The Aux input, Phono input, and radio would be from the "source", and whatever device you have plugged into the "tape deck 2 playback" would be the "Tape 2 > 1" setting. Obviously, you'll need to set your Teac to "record" and if there is a record input setting, make sure it's on "line in".

To listen back to the reels, set the Tape Monitor switch to "Tape 1"
***************************************
SA700 Preamp out > Numark input
Numark Output-1 > SA 700 Main amp input

This setup allows the EQ to be used globally for the receiver - in other words, it'll work regardless of what your monitoring because it's at the final point before going into the power amp section.

Let me know if this does / does not work for you. This is pretty much how I had my early home studio set up (I was using dual reel to reels & a Fostex EQ).

I'll be "rejecting" the other questions, as they were only sent to get the pics to me.

Cheers!
