Audio Systems: headphones, ohm impedance, sony wega

Question
I am interested in buying a headphones set for my TV. Is it worth paying double for a 64 ohm impedance and a 110db sensitivity? I like good sound, but I don' t know if my 10 year old sony wega can support it.

Answer
Any headphone output circuit can handle any standard set of headphones. Depending on the brand and the impedance, they may sound different, but the circuitry is typically set up to accept a wide impedance range.
As far as "good sound" and headphones are concerned, I won't say anything more than try them out, and make sure you can return them if you don't like them or they don't perform as expected.
