Audio Systems: delco radio, delco radio, 4 ohm speakers

Question
i have a delco stereo radio,i belive its a 1978 to mid 1980 by the standard black, white, blue connectors,my question what is the resistance for speaker output on this radio,so i can match speakers on 1976 chevy truck restoration,no indication on radio anywhere? thanks hd

Answer
During that period of time nearly all manufacturers used 4 ohms as their basic impedance matching for both the amps and speakers.  I am not absolutely certain that Delco followed that convention but I am 99% sure.  I think you would be safe in using 4 ohm speakers.  The exception would been 8 ohms, but 2 ohms was never used back in those days.  \

Hope this helps.
