Audio Systems: Audiovox SP-6CD in 1999 Subaru, rca phono, rca cables

I recently purchases a 1999 Subaru which has installed a Audiovox SP-6CD changer under the passenger seat.  It has a CDC-COM controller attached to it that allows me to control the cds.  However since I didn't get an operators manual, I downloaded both the installation manual and the owners manual for the changer.  But alas neither manual tells me how to get the radio to let the sound come thru the Subaru speakers.  In my google search I get the impression that I need to tune the radio to an FM frequency in the 88-90 range.  Is that all there is to it?  Is there a way to change the frequency the radio uses to recognize the CD changer in case there is a conflict with a local station?  Thanks.

I don't know this model right off but most of the rf ones have two ways to connect:

-  on the fm radio.  The signal coming from the changer is strong enough your fm radio will block out any local stations on that frequency.
-  audio inputs using rca cables. If this option is available you would need to have rca inputs on the back of the head unit.  I don't know if your stock Subaru radio does nor not; my guess would be not so.

BUT: I did see an old spec on this model on one of the URLs that indicated it required an rf modulator to finalize the unit.  So if you don't have the modulator you would need to get one or connect from the outputs into a head unit with rca phono inputs. Based on what I read, it seems this unit is compatible with certain Jensen radio heads that have an interface connection for operation of the changer.
