Audio Systems: cd players, audio editing software, audio handler

what can i used to connect my labtop to a cd player and use the cd player to mix.

Does your PC have amp or microphone inputs?  If so you can get the cable adapter for outputs from your cd player to the mini plug microphone input on your pc.  

If the pc does not have audio inputs you must add.

Using windows media player you can rip and edit, etc.  It is a basic audio handler.  

I am not sure what you mean by "mix".  What do you want to mix?  Are you burning a new cd or are you wanting to send an audio attachment to another person or what?  And what are you mixing?  Audio from the CD to a microphone pickup????  Tell me more.  Or, you can google around and you will find many applications for simple mixing software that can be installed to your pc, etc.
