Audio Systems: HEADPHONES, cordless headphones, tv speakers

Question
Kyle,
I have been going around and around with this one for some time and still do not have a satisfactory answer.  Hope you can help.

I have a Sony Bravia model KDL-32M3000 and I would like to use a set of cordless headphones to enhance the sound but allow others in the room to watch TV at their sound level.  Simply put, I control the volume on my headset and those in the room use the remote to control the TV speakers.
The TV has a set of Audio OUT jacks on the rear but unfortunately, Sony did not think it wise to have both the TV speakers and the OUT jacks live similtaneously.  The jacks on the rear of the TV are not live unless one goes into the menu and turns off the TV speakers.
So, bottom line is how to find a way to use the headphones without resorting to the TV OUT jacks.
My Comcast cable box(Standard not HD) has Audio Out on the back of their cable box and I wonder if that output would be suitable for the headphones.
I look forward to your thoughts on this.

Answer
Yes, using the audio outs from your cable box should be suitable for what you are doing. Even without identical ins and outs you can work around this. The only problem, which I don't forsee, is a delay in the sound in the room and the audio in your headset. Other than that you should be fine.
