Audio Systems: Audio Equpment, adobe audtion, sam ash

Question
Hi, I was thinking about creating music and layering/digitalizing it on the computer. However, I don't have any of the equpment to begin, and I need a general list of programs and equipment I will need. I've heard that Adobe Audtion 3.0 is good, but I don't know if it will suit my purposes. Thank you in advance!

Answer
It really depends so much on your music interests and what things you want to be able to do.  If you are a hobbyist that is one thing, if a professional musician, quite another.  If you are going to be making your own mp3s or putting them up on youtube it is all a different story, too.

Here is my suggestion:  Find a good music store such as a Sam Ash, spend some time talking with the sales staff.  They are very knowledgeable about these kinds of things and can give you some practical suggestions based on the experience of their customers.

Also, spend some time on google or bing checking reviews and comments from users in the areas of your interest.

you can get a trial download of the Adobe Audition.

The bottom half of the Cakewalk site is very instructive to plow through also:
