Audio Systems: Chrysler Town and Country DVD player, chrysler town and country, chrysler town and country van

Question
Hi, I hope you can help me! I have a 2005 Chrysler Town and Country van with a 6-change built in DVD player.
I noticed that two of the buttons on my DVD player were lit and that it sounded like it was struggling to play.  I tried to eject the DVD's or get them to play - unsuccessfully.  I believe that a back pack on the center console pushed up against the player while I was driving. I am not sure how multiple DVD players work internally - ejecting or playing the DVD's. I am assuming that two DVD's may have released at the same time and jammed the system??  I tried disconnecting the car battery, to see if the system would reset.  It didn't. All the lights are lit up now. Last week, I took it to the dealer for them to look at. $50 later, I was told that it would have to be replaced for around $450.  Anything I could try before going the route replacment?  If it is beyond repair, any recommendations as to where I could find a good used player to replace it myself?  I tried ebay motors unsuccessfully.
Thanks so much!
Cate

Answer
removing the battey with disc inside was a very bad  idea
they get confuse  when you power for the first time  try to open the unit and remove the disc
but when all the lights start flashing it means that there is to much damage inside

you can get a rebuild unit for under $300.00 from oemautosound

good luck
