Audio Systems: Turntable trouble, stereo de luxe, performance quality

Question
I have an old Olympic Stereo De Luxe and when I try and play records on it the turntable turns too slow and I was wondering what might be the problem.  Is there a drive belt and if so how do I get to it and take it off and try and replace it.

Answer
If this is a question concerning a turntable that is older than 10 years you cannot expect to find replacement parts. After 10 years the rubber will dry out of any belt driven turntable. I can only offer advice for turntables that can be serviced by manufacturers and technicians that can service these devices. The cost of service for old turntables only makes sense if the turntable is of a performance quality (IE Thorens). The cost for these turntables are in the thousands of dollars.
