Audio Systems: car audio, wattage ratings, jeep wiring

Question
i dont know if you charge for your knowledge, but i'll ask anyways... i am new to car audio, i'm have a few things maybe you can tell me if they go well together. Two power acoustik stw 12 1000 peak 500 rms, one power acoustik pcx-5f (5 farad) capacitor, and i have one power acoustik ov2-1250 amp. i have an 05 jeep liberty, im thinking of making a horizontal platform at window level to place everything, and using the truck as the box. what do you recomend? do i need a second amp of the same, or will that one push the 2 twelves ok? is the 5 farad cap dangerous for my car, should i stick with something smaller? fyi, im sticking with the factory radio because i dont want to rewire all the doors.

Answer
We are all volunteers!

The 05 jeep wiring should be ok.
The speakers are for non-sealed large enclosures.
If you want to use an infinite baffle design, it is feasible as long as the volume of airspace ends up being what the speakers desire (check the recommended enclosure size from their website).  Use RMS wattage ratings only.
If the enclosure goes all the way to the floor, it may be too large.
Infinite baffles are fun, can provide rediculous output if done well and are pretty easy to do.
The cap should be ok.
Two of those amps each pushing 500 watts would be ok. They need a lot of power since the efficiency is only 89 Db @ 1 watt. But realise that doubling the power (500 x 500) is only going to give you a 3 Db increase. Doubling the amount of subs would give you 6 Db. Which is cheaper? probably the speakers... which is easier to install? I would say the speakers (if you have room for four) but that is up to you, your patience and your pocketbook.

here is a note:
You can buy a factory wiring adapter at walmart for 10.00 which will let you connect any radio into the factory connectors at the dash!

Let me know if I can be of further assistance.
