Audio Systems: Cassette deck eject door wont open, double cassette deck, cassette machines

Question
I just purchased a used Yamaha KX-W602 double cassette deck. It arrived with the outer snap-on covers of both cassette bays removed. There was a small plastic part (~1.5"x.5") loose in the "A" bay. I attached the covers an closed both bays. Now the "B" bay door will not open, and the eject button feels like something is preventing it from going all the way in. (The "A" bay works normally.) I had a similar situation with a Sony double cassette deck some time ago. I don't think I've done anything that would cause this, but it was working when I took it out of the box. What can I do?

Answer
Our work is in commercial and professional systems. We have not used cassette machines for nearly 20 years. I myself have a Nakamechi Dragon which is on the high end of cassette machines in the day. Nakamechi not only doesn't have parts to repair it but to find a technician who even remembers how to repair them is a bit of 'Mission Impossible'. I've saved mine not because it works (which it does not) just to prove that there I actually thought it was high quality and it was about the best avaiable at the time.

I would venture to say that for a fraction of the cost of repair you can purchase a CD copier or mp3 player on Ebay.
