Audio Systems: Akai SW-T77, ohm load, old pioneer

Question
I have an old hand-me-down pair of Akai SW-T77 speakers from my dad. He ran them on an old Pioneer amp which has now been retired. I cant find ANYTHING on the net regarding these speakers. Please could you help out.

I shall describe them if it helps:

Wooden box with grey coating. Black material grille covering top 3/4 of the front. Each box has 3 drivers, 1 about 2", 1 about 3-4", 1 10".

Answer
Yes, they are not just old but very old.  However, as long as they are still working good there is no problem to use them.

They are a 3-way system that was rated for around 80 to 90 watts - which doesn't mean too much as speaker power ratings are mostly fictional numbers.

They were reported as having a good sound with solid bass response.

But, the real test is just to connect them up and listen to them; if you like them you are in luck.  They will work well with any good amplifier that can drive an 8 ohm load.

Hope this helps.

PS: If they are damaged in any way let me know what has failed and I can suggest ways to get them going again.
