Audio Systems: 2 Stereos, One CD player, line level signals, blue jeans cable

Question
Is is possible to hook up one CD Player (or TV, etc.) to two different Stereo Amps using Y Jacks?  Or, do I need to specifically purchase a "Switching" component to accomplish this?  If so, what product is best?
Thanks, Terrence

Answer
Sure. Just be aware that there will be a 3dB loss at the split, which is an unavoidable physical property of line level signals. I'd say shop for price on any y-cable or adapter - they all work exactly the same, and you'd be wasting your money on a "boutique" or "monstrously" huge brands.

Blue Jeans Cable has adapters for a couple of bucks, as well as Monoprice.
