Audio Systems: connecting my Ipod mixer to a pioneer dj mixer, pioneer cd players, dj mixer

Question
Hi Robert, I'm a D.J and I have a gig in 2 days time. I D.J with my I-pod,I-pod
mixer and my laptop connected to the mixer. Now the club has a Pioneer DJ
Mixer with inputs for their 2 turntables and 2 cd consoles. Now can I connect
up my laptop to my i-pod mixer as usual and use my master out to one of
their inputs in their mixer? And use their mixer to regulate volume levels? I
think I may need a couple of adapters to do this for my RCA
cables.......Thanks

Answer
If you have iPods you must have a computer. If you have a laptop you can do all of what you what with software and minimal hardware. IE PCDJ or other similar products. iPods for DJing are not the most reliable hearty devices. Certainly you can use them if you like. Numark makes a semi pro iPod dock that works like those Pioneer CD players. Maybe you can convince the owner of the club that it would be a good investment in modernizing his system. Still the laptop solution is by far the most professional and the most widely used by DJ's worldwide.
