Audio Systems: installing speakers, google search, 4 ohms

Question
yes, i have 4 6x9 speakers and 2 4x6 speakers. The 4x6's are installed in my front dash. But one set of 6x9's are in a box together, and the others are in separate boxes. I plan on putting all the 6x9's in the rear of my truck, i have an extended cab. And i was curious of how you hook up all the 6x9's.

Answer
It's all about impedance matching between the amp and speakers.

Do you know the impedance of the speakers?  6x9 are usually either 4 ohms or 8 ohms.

Do you know the impedance rating of the amplifier that will be driving them?

Once you know that, you can decide the connection.  The impedances must be matched.

Then, there are various wiring diagrams available on the Internet that you can find with a simple google search.

Here is just one example?

For example, series parallel of a set of 4 4 ohm speakers will give you 4 ohms to connect to one amplifier.

So, once you have the amplifier known and the speaker impedances you can design the best connection scheme.

Let me know if you need further help.
