Saab: Saab electrical, 1997 saab 900s, keyswitch

Question
1997 Saab 900S  Intermittently loses power to the w/w wipers, directional lights, heater fan, and electric windows all at the same time.  It may happen many times in a day then work fine for a couple weeks.

Answer
Ron:
My personal experience is limited to 1993 and earlier 900's and 99's. However, since SAAB designs are very conservative, hardly changing from generation to generation, what follows may be applicable, although, understandably, I cannot be sure:
All the items you noted have one common electrical feed point, terminal No. 54 on the keyswitch. On earlier SAABS, sometimes the key switch loses conductivity at this point resulting in the loss of power; it does this by heating up, which, when the circuit is broken, allows cooling down and power restoration.
So, bottom line: I would check and possibly replace the keyswitch.
