Audio Systems: car audio, sony explode cd player, power amp

my friend hooked up a new sony explode cd player everything works but no sound comes from the speakers have tried all trouble shooting in sony hand book just checkn to see if you have a suggestion thank you    MATTERN

Can you give me the make/model of the player and the make/model of the vehicle you are installing it in.

Most common problem is wrong wiring.
Second most common problem is power amp goes into overload protection due to shorts on speaker line (from wrong wiring).
Third most common problem is installing person doesn't know there is an external power amplifier in the system that needs to be wired in - or out - of the speaker system setup.

Are you using an external power amp?  Have you checked to make sure both 12v lines are properly connected?  Have you checked the audio output from the Explode to make sure audio is getting to the input of the amp? Have you checked to make sure the speaker wires are correctly connected to the output of the amp?  Did you use a wiring harness to make sure the connections were easily disconnected and compatible all the way around?
