Audio Systems: How to run a crossover for subs, subwoofer crossover, electronic crossover

Question
i have a legacy crossover. i want to know the exact proper way to run this crossover for it to serve its purpose, basically block out settings for my mids and highs so they don't take effect on the sub. the following link is the crossover i have. (ya its kinda cheap) http://www.legacycaraudio.com/itempage.asp?model=LXR6 how i have it hooked up now is it has its own power ran from the 2 way off of the main power wire, remote and ground from the crossover ran into the remote and ground on the amp. witch is probably not correct or safe

Answer
This is an electronic crossover with great flexibility. It will do just about anything you want for bi-amping, tri-amping and with or without a subwoofer in the system.

I did not understand your system and what you want to do.  Are you just using it for a subwoofer crossover?  If so, all you have to do is hook up the subwoofer section and ignore the other parts; run your speakers as usual.  However, if you want to run your current speakers as mid-range units and keep out the bass from getting in, just follow the very excellent diagrams for your system as shown in the manual. It is very clear on how to do it for all combinations of system requirements.

and go to page  4 and 5 diagrams.

The subwoofer crossover will do just what you want and the others crossovers you use as you need.

If you have further questions just let me know.  When you come back, tell me what amps, speakers you are using so I can get the idea of your overall system and what you are trying to do.

All the best,
