Nissan Repair: Removiong a strip spark plug, metal shavings, combustion chamber

There is no good way to tell you this...  If the plug is stuck and the threads are not torn out you should use some lubricant and spray the plugs down.  Then, with a cold engine unscrew the spark plug.  If the threads are pulled loose with the plug you are going to have to install an insert that replaces the threads that are torn out.  And in most cases that means that the effected head has to come off.  I have done many of these and it sucks.  But, you have to remove the head to keep from getting metal shavings in the combustion chamber.  If metal shavings get intot he cylinder it will blow the engine...
