Audio Systems: cd player, power supply voltage, voltage sources

Question
what does it mean when u hook up A CD player it works 4 a second but nothing comin out speakers.then it blew a fuse is the radio still good if fuse is replaced?

Answer
I need the make and model and age in order to give you a specific response.

If the fuse blows on any electronic product is means something is drawing too much current.  The fuse blows in order to protect it from further damage.

There is no way of knowing what the problem is without investigating inside and taking tests/measurements.  There are many, many possibilities but it usually centers around the power supply or a short circuit on one of the power supply voltage sources.  The repair is not difficult, usually, but requires troubleshooting to pin down the problem.  Unfortunately, the cost of repair is often greater than the product is worth - simply because electronic products are so inexpensive now days.

Let me know if you want more; send me the make, model and age of the unit.
