hello
i am trying to install a clarion DXZ946MP headunit. what i am trying to achive
is to have the RCA line level outputs connected to my amplifiers and then my
speakers, and at the same time, the speaker level outputsconnected to my
speakers. this unit has an internal amp cancel option. and i have connected a
switch to the remote wire for my amps, so i can prevent running two signals
into the speakers at the same time. my problem is that when i plug in the
RCA cables the internal amp seems to cancel automatically. have you got any
ideas???

Can't do that. You can only have one set of wires connected to the speakers.  The remote wire is to turn off the power to the external amps, but if the speakers are still connected it will have a load on the internal amp that will bother it.

You should run either one amp/speaker combination or the other but not both.  However, you could do what you are doing if you added another big gang switch that switched the wiring of the speakers from one amp to the other.  It is not an easy switching setup to do because each speaker must have a dpst switch connected to it.
