Audio Systems: Emerson-3disk cd changer i need HELP!!!!, laser diode, radio speakers

i have a Emerson 3 disk cd changer stereo s/n-10926801 TN class 1 laser product model#-MS9838 made september 2001
it will play most of my cd's but it will skip around and skip back to the near end of the previous song even though i cleaned it with a laser lens cleaner plenty of times wath else can i do besides getting a new one?

This is a sign of alignment of the laser beam, focus adjustment, weak laser diode OR all of the above.

Since it is getting very old (about 5 generations behind the current models) it may not be a good investment to repair as the repair cost will be at least $80 or more. You can purchase new changers for the same or a little more - and then you would have the new generation product.

PC Richards has the Emerson 3cd shelf player including radio, speakers and the whole shegang for $99.  Other stores in your area would have the same kind of deals going.
