Audio Systems: Tape adapter will not eject from 96 Pontiac, needle nose pliers, ac delco

Question
How can I remove the tape adapter from my '96 Pontiac AC DELCO factory unit?  Not stuck, just hums when the eject button is pushed.  I have used the screwdriver and needle nose pliers trick to no avail. Not willing to force it too much! Can't play anything more than 10 seconds before it switches from the radio then back to whatever is plugged in to the adapter.

most likely the tape player got damage so just force it a little the back part needs to be up high to come out
use a small knife and push it under the tape, if not the radio needs to be open
to input audio in the future use one of this
