Audio Systems: Surround Sound Help, digital cable box, panasonic th 50px75u

Question
I am trying to get my digital cable to run its sound  through my surround sound system and am having a bit of trouble.  I have been able to get sound from one speaker when i attach one of the red or white audio cables (either one works), but as soon as i plug in the other red or white cable the sound becomes fuzzy and very faint out of both speakers.  What do I need to do to get this system up and running?

Equipment:
Digital Cable Box- Motorola DCH3200
DVD Player/Surround Sound System- Nexxtech ESDVD100
HDTV- Panasonic TH-50PX75U

Answer
That doesn't sound good at all. I'm assuming you are merely going from the Motorola audio outputs (stereo pair) to one of the inputs on your Nexxtech. I've been doing some reading about this model (Nexxtech), and it seems to be having a lot of issues.

The first step would be to check the cabling. Try a different stereo pair (red & white) and see if that helps. If you are still getting the same result, double check that your speakers are plugged in properly (the + and - need to be correct on ALL of the speakers). If one or more of the speakers is wired backwards, you will throw the system out of phase which can sound "fuzzy and faint".

If those 2 suggestions don't work, double-check that the cable box is ok by putting the audio directly into the TV set and listen.

other than what I've suggested - you may need to contact Nexxtech customer service.
