Audio Systems: Kicker SXRC, kicker amps, different styles of music

Question
Hi.

I drive a little mitsubishi eclipse spyder 1997 model.

i got rid of the back seat to make room for my 15" mtx 9500 subwoofer 4 ohm on a 3.0 cu.ft. approx. slot ported enclosure. 2 sets of Kicker KS 6 1/2" component systems

im running 2 SX Kicker amps SX 1250.1 and SX 700.4 for mids and highs.

i got the SXRC but it just has one too many settings

question is, can you please tell me a good freq. bandwidth, boost/cut. etc. etc. configuration and what would be the changes on them for like different styles of music.

Answer
The gain (or level control) is the most important of all to set right. There is a link about half-way down my site http://spkrbox1.spaces.live.com This link is a guide that describes how to set the gain correctly to prevent damage to the subs/speakers.

With the exception of the bass boost for the subs, all other settings are to taste within the constraints of the speakers frequency responses.

The bass boost should barely, if at all, be used.

Set the LPF for the subs to just below the highest frequency response. ie. If the freq response of the sub is 20Hz-200Hz, set the LPF to around 180Hz for this example.

Set the HPF to just above the lowest frequency in the frequncy response of the speakers.

These settings (LPF and HPF) aren't set in stone...play with it and see what sounds good to you.
