Audio Systems: truck speakers 93 c1500 silverado, truck speakers, installation question

Question
QUESTION: my truck sat for 2 months and the battery drained. I removed it,charged it,and reinstalled. The stereo( not factory) power came on but no speaker sound. I removed that stereo(the LCD wasn't working so I couldn't read anything so I decided to replace it. I installed a new stereo the power came on but still no speaker sound in any of the four speakers.  Everything worked fine before the truck sat. Any help would be great.
Thanks Steph

ANSWER: This sounds like a commection was lost.  Check with an installer for the wiring harness pinouts as well as the wiring paths.  You will need to check all of the wiring to be sure that none have been broken.  It is unlikely that all of the speakers have become defective.

QUESTION: Dan,
If only one speaker wire has lost the connection will all the speakers go out? There are two wires for each speaker on the wiring harness. Does the harness connect the speakers together further down the truck wiring?

Answer
This has gotten to the point of more of an installation question which is not what I do.  Since you have replaced the radio, it is possible that the harness wiring no longer matches the pinout on the radion.  Check with a local installer that would have the harness pinouts for both the old and new radios.  Check to make sure that they match.
