do u know why i cant control my head unit with out my remote? my volume and my source buttons both work fine but thats it as far as the control panel

Answer
It could have a bad control panel or corrupted software.

A reset will help to correct any software problem, but if the controller  panel is bad or something associated with it you will need technical service to replace the defective parts.

A reset is done by removing all power from the unit for 30 minutes and then starting it up again.  Try that.
