Audio Systems: onkyo tx2500 mkII receiver, onkyo receiver, monitor switch

Question
Dear Dan, I have an Onkyo receiver which has served me well for many years.  Recently the left channel has stared cutting in and out.  I know it isn't the speaker because here's the weird thing: If I wiggle the tape II button it cuts back in again and will work for a long time.  Any thoughts??  How much to fix--should I just look for a good one on Ebay??  Thanks

Answer
With the unit off, spray the tape monitor switch (on the inside) and turn it on and off a number of times.  Use an electronics spray that contains a lubricant.  Do NOT use WD-40.  That should resolve your problem.  While you are in there, you may want to spray and work each of the other switches and controls.
