QUESTION: these appear to be mainly for uhf/vhf.  And I'd bet they all require 2 terminal flat antenna leads.  Or coax.   I've got a single wire antenna lead to work with.  ??????

I suggest you visit this website. http://www.fanfarefm.com/rfms-bk.html.
It will explain some of the complexities of FM reception and why a single conductor is not by any means ideal for improving reception. It's pretty much of a crap shoot. Sometimes experimenting can prove the experts wrong when it comes to RF. Terk does have customer support and may be able to shed light on the subject as they've been doing this for some 30 odd years.
