Answer
If you go to installdr.com and plow down through some of the diagrams for pathfinders you might find something to help you solve the problems.

If your vehicle has a power amp somewhere that is driving the speakers it may be the head unit is fine and the power amp has gone out.  Check that out.

If you know how to use a vom - ohmmeter section - you should be able to verify the speaker connections by measuring the resistance of each speaker from at the plug in connector to the head unit.

If you want to be vigorously thorough it requires you to pull the head unit, bench test it with some stand-alone speakers.  Then, before putting the unit back in, check the wiring from the amp to each speaker by continuity checks to verify that the wires are going the right place and the speakers are working okey.

Then, check to make sure the power wires are connected up properly.  There should be two 12v power lines. One is coming directly from battery to permanently power the unit. The other is a remote turn on line that comes from the ignition for firing up the unit when the key is turned on.

You can see the wiring for a 95 model at installdr.com which is probably similar to a 94.

Hope this helps you get underway.
