Audio Systems: hdmi and audio, hdmi inputs, tv input

Hello Robert, my question is about how home theater audio systems have hdmi inputs and outputs, so I was wondering if that ment that you could connect all your hdmi components to the audio system and then connect the audio system to your tv in order to connect the components to the tv.

HDMI is a simpler way of using a single cable to accomplish what many cables formally did. Assuming that all of your equipment has HDMI inputs and outputs you would use HDMI source outputs into a receiver then the receiver would be connected to speakers for audio and the TV input would be connected to HDMI output of the receiver for only video.
