Audio Systems: no audio car dvd, infinity car speakers, bose radio

Question
no sound coming from my dvd player. Some tell me it should come out of the infinity car speakers if I set the Bose radio to a certain FM channel. Can you help?

Answer
Are you getting a picture on the screen?
Are you getting sound when set to radio am or fm?
Have you set the dash unit for dvd?

Most in-car dvd systems have it set so that sound from the dvd comes only from the rear speakers.  The front speakers can be set for radio so the driver and front passengers can hear radio but do not have to listen to the dvd/movie audio.  Do you know how to choose these settings?  Your instruction booklet will cover all these options.

Make sure the fade and balance controls on the main unit are set in the middle.

If you need more, please give me the make/model/year of the car and the system you have in it (there are many Bose systems).

All the best,
C
PS: Setting for FM to get audio is used mainly in aftermarket dvd systems.  So, I need to know more about the dvd system and the car you are using it in; for example if the dvd came with the car it would be entirely different picture than if you had it added later on.  If the car came with Bose radio and you had the dvd player added later on that can be a big problem because Bose car audio systems do not combine with other manufacturers in some cases.
