Audio Systems: buttons switch problem, screen switches, toyota camry

Question
I have a cassette adapter that connects a cord from the cassette to my ipod to play the ipod music on the stereo in my 1999 toyota camry. At first it was working fine, now the cassette plays very low and the eject button does not eject the cassette. The cassette eject button (instead of saying "eject" on the screen) switches to cd, or am/fm radio when pushed, and does not eject, and does not even try to eject the cassette at all.

I would plug in a ciggarette lighter ipod adapter, but the am/fm radio won't work for that to play music. What is my cheapest best bet to do? Should i go to a store like best buy and install a new head receiever? I'm lost please help me dan.

Answer
In all probability the main drive belt inside the receiver broke.  Essentially the adapter is nothing more that a cassette tape without a tape.  As far as the receiver goes, it is playing a tape including "moving the tape".  All of the gearing etc is moving just like a tape was in there.  If the belt breaks, the mechanism remains in play mode (where it broke).  You will need to remove the receiver and have the belt replaced in order for this to work again.
