Audio Systems: home audio, digital capability, home theater system

We just purchased a Samsung DVD Home Theater System HT-X50.  We have a Polaroid 26" LCD Television FLM-2632 and our cable is through a Motorola Dual Tuner DVR DCH3416.  We have connected the TV to the Home Theater System with a HDMI cable, and the Home Theater System to the Cable Box with coaxial cables.  DVD's play through the Samsung speakers perfectly, but TV audio will only play through TV speakers.  Please help?

You lost me in all the models, but you should have audio outputs from the tv connected to the theater play system somehow.  HDMI carries digital audio but not analog.  So if your home theater system does not have digital capability you will have to run analog audio to it.
